ASSOCHAM urges Karnataka to adopt Direct Selling guidelines

The Associated Chamber of Commerce and Industries of (ASSOCHAM) urged the government to adopt and implement the Centre’s draft guidelines for the direct selling 

 

At a regional conference on the topic ‘Promoting direct selling for developing entrepreneurship and job creation’ here, the speakers sought the government to adopt the guidelines so that the direct selling would push industry’s growth, spur skill development, and job creation.

He noted that the Framework for Guidelines on Direct Selling were issued by the Union Consumer Affairs Ministry in September 2016.

However, only seven states, Chhattisgarh, Sikkim, Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, Odisha and have adopted them, whereas other states have not accepted it, Sardana said.

He claimed that if the ensures speedy implementation of the guidelines, it will result in creation ofover 10 million entrepreneurs by 2020 as direct selling has agreat potential to create jobs and self-employment.
